Jay D. Scribner is Professor at The University of Texas at Austin in the Public
School Executive Leadership Program where he is the College of Education's Ken
McIntyre Professor for Excellence in School Leadership. Dr. Scribner is
also the Director of the Educational Policy and Planning Program.
Professor Scribner's teaching and research focus on deucational politics,
policy, and school leadership. He has served as president of the
Politics of Education Association and the University Council for
Educational Administration. Joining the faculty in 1989, he had
previously served as Dean and Professor at Temple University. Dr.
Scribner co-directed the South Texas Effective Border Schools Research
and Development Initiative, and is currently co-directing the Migrant
Education Policy and Practices Project.
