Recuperado [fecha] de http://epaa.asu.edu/epaa/v16n5/   Resumen La inclusión educativa de las personas con discapacidad constituye una de las innovaciones educativas y pedagógicas más relevantes de las últimas décadas. Este artículo analiza dicha inclusión en el nivel de los estudios superiores, eligiendo como muestra representativa y extrapolable: las personas sordas. Tras concretar las principales limitaciones y necesidades de este colectivo de alumnos, el estudio revisa las soluciones planteadas en la ordenación legislativa y se detiene en profundizar, mediante un estudio comparado, las prestaciones ofertadas en la actualidad por los recientes Servicios Universitarios de Integración de personas con necesidades educativas especiales. El trabajo señala de forma conclusiva algunas propuestas de futuro—principios, estrategias, servicios, recursos—que ayuden a alcanzar la igualdad ciudadana por medio de una igualdad educativa en esta etapa superior de la formación. From Exclusion to Inclusion: Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students in the Spanish University Abstract The educational inclusion of disabled people constitutes one of the most relevant educational and pedagogical innovations in the past decades. This article analyses such inclusion at the university level choosing students with deafness as a representative and extrapolative sample. After specifying the main limitations and needs for this group of students, the study revises the solutions put forward by the current legislation and it details in depth, by way of a comparative study, the services provided now by the newly created University Services for the Integration of students with special educational needs. The study points out conclusively some proposals for the future—principles, strategies, services, resources—which may enable to attain an equalitarian society through an educational integration in this higher stage of education.
