From strengthening of social cohesion, the organization of biographical and professional projects, and the sustainability of democratic integration, education contributes to the expansion of opportunities for participation. The structural changes produced in Latin America by the reforms of the 1990s, economic and cultural globalization, and the problems inherent in vulnerability and socioeconomic exclusion, created a new framework of restrictions and possibilities for the new generations. This article gives a critical insight into the socioeconomic scene of the educational offer.
