Initially, the article presents the axis that unifies the articles, adult education, the theoretical perspectives and the central concepts derived from decolonial theories and new literacy studies that guided the organization of this dossier, as well as problems that pervade the field of adult education in Latin America. Next, the theoretical-methodological, ethical, and political choices mobilized in the articles are presented and discussed.
