This article examines data concerning school mapping exercises by schools owned by external actors in Guinea-Bissau. It dialogues with previous research on the subject, bringing to the analysis particular characteristics of contexts affected by protracted crisis, focusing on Guinea-Bissau. The reflection presented is framed by the idea that education can be privatized in three main areas: management, provision, and curriculum (Adrião, 2018). The study highlights a blurring of the boundaries between various categories of actors and an absence of a national/foreign network of companies. Additionally, the findings suggest that student tuition fees correlate more with the type of school management than the educational level offered.
