This review aims to systematize analyses and discussions from the academic literature on Resolution No. 6/2018 of the National Council of Education, highlighting the intense debate on physical education (PE) training, the health field, and the Unified Health System (SUS) in Brazil. Criticisms were identified concerning the neoliberal influence on the drafting process and the final version of the Resolution, the haste in its ratification without broad dialogue with society and the academic community, the strengthening of biomedical hegemony, and the absence of references to health in specific licensure training. Although the inclusion of SUS in the bachelor’s degree training is considered an advance, there remains an emphasized need for comprehensive health training that also includes licensure and contributes to transcending the predominance of a strictly biological conception of the body and health.
