Abstract

The aim of this article was to study the experiences of social and work integration and working conditions of early career postdoctoral researchers in Mexico. The study is qualitative, using life stories through semi-structured interviews to a group of postdoctoral. The results show that postdoctoral researchers experience precarious working conditions, which are the result of work models that are socialized through the discourse of excellence, keeping them in a “limbo” labour due to the lack of institutional recognition, conditions that destabilize, undermine and limit their continuity and professional development in science.
